JOB REQUIREMENTS for Equipment Operator/Equipment Mechanic

1. Be at least 18 years of age or older.
2. Possession of a valid Driver’s License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
3. Knowledge or experience with snow and ice control.
4. A completed DelDOT Snow and Ice Control Maintenance Form attached to application.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. DelDOT does not provide employment-based sponsorship.
As a condition of hire you must possess a valid CDL Class A or B driver’s license (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
Pre-employment Drug Testing: Upon a conditional offer, you must undergo pre-employment drug testing as part of the hiring process.
DelDOT Medical Exam: Applicants who meet the job requirements for the position, and who are made a conditional offer of employment, shall be required to meet the physical qualifications and examination requirements of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations to hold a commercial driver’s license unless they are approved for either an Intra-State CDL Waiver of a Federal Waiver or Exemption. In addition, applicants must not have incurred four or more serious traffic violations during the previous three years as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Code. The Department of Transportation will obtain driving record information maintained by the Division of Motor Vehicles for the preceding three year period.
Applicants must successfully complete DelDOT's Drug and Alcohol training prior to performing snow and ice control duties or have completed the class within the last five years.
