The incumbent may support any planning function but will be
assigned to the Comprehensive School Safety Program. CSSP ensures school safety
plans comply with the Omnibus School Safety Act and assists schools in ensuring
they meet their requirements to adopt the National Incident Management System
and to hold lockdown drills and tabletop exercises. CSSP offers critical
incident training for school staff and ensures after actions reports are
completed to help schools more easily improve their plans based on lessons
learned during drills and exercises.
They support schools by incorporating infrastructure assessments and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) and provide technical assistance for preparedness planning and response efforts across the state.
