The Department of Human Resources, Talent Acquisition is a statewide function of human resources whose mission is to fill vacancies in the shortest time with excellent customer engagement using the latest technology and by constantly evaluating our processes. We support state agencies in their recruitment initiatives and provide various outreach and support services to applicants. As a Human Resource Associate, you will process recruitments for various state agencies and review job postings for accuracy, clarity, and ensuring compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices. Additional support to recruitment efforts includes source applicants using social media, job boards, community engagement, and by engaging with attendees at hiring events. Additionally, this position works on a team that provides various applicant services and administrative support such as career counseling, reviewing applications, providing prompt and courteous customer service to associates and the public on the phone and via email, and providing rotating coverage for the Department’s reception desk and main phone line.
Paraprofessional human resource work is characterized by the application of human resource laws, rules and regulations, providing technical assistance to employees, applicants and others in standard human resource transactions, human resource services, and maintaining personnel files. Examples of paraprofessional or technical responsibilities typically assigned include, but are not limited to those described in the Essential Functions below.
