Budget and Grant Supervisor

Responsibilities

Manages and supervises the Department of Planning, Neighborhoods & Development budgets and grants, including the development of the annual budget sources and use, ensuring the proper budget is in place for approved projects, expenditures, and the daily management of funds. Incumbent assists with fiscal projects including but not limited to contract agreements, overseeing payroll, preparing reports for contract awards, and processing contract change orders or amendments. Responsible for the financial management of acquired grant funds ensuring compliance with all grant requirements. Assists with the daily financial management of departmental contracts ensuring timely payments are made to consultants and/or contractors, resolving payment issues, and managing the financial portions of contracts to ensure all changes are properly accounted for and funded.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a closely related field AND 5 years of experience in the areas of budgeting, accounting, financial reporting or auditing. Must have experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in grants management and budget administration/management is highly desirable. MBA, MPA or CPA is preferred.

Degree must be from a college or university that is accredited by the U.S. Department of Education through the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities or equivalent region. 

License Requirements

Must possess a valid driver’s license at time of appointment and maintain thereafter as a term and condition of continued employment.

Background Check 
A background investigation and evidence of Employment Authorization and Identity is required prior to employment. Final appointment is contingent upon the applicant passing a job-related medical examination including drug screen.
