IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
This position serves as the manager for the Stormwater Services Section within the Technical Services Division of the Public Works Department, and is responsible for the day to day coordination of stormwater planning, engineering and investigations.
This position also requires considerable contact with County officials, consultants, other agency representatives, and other internal and external contacts, and requires excellent communication and public relations skills.
This classification performs management duties related to stormwater planning and engineering, and oversees a staff of licensed professional engineers and unlicensed engineering staff.
Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, environmental or geology; and
Minimum of eight years of experience related to stormwater management with increasing level of responsibility including at a supervisory level.
Possession of a valid Driver's License.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages and coordinates storm water planning, engineering, and investigations.
- Oversees development of and reviews storm water plans and investigations.
- Coordinates responses to storm water concerns received from citizens.
- Oversees watershed master planning, and reviews of development plans involving storm water modeling for the Development Services Department.
- Serves as liaison with other departments. Coordinates with various local, state and federal permitting agencies.
- Manages numerous design and engineering consultant work assignments for storm water-related projects.
- Attends and/or conducts Public Information Meetings, during and after normal working hours.
- Attends Board of County Commissioners' meetings. Makes public presentations, as necessary.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Knowledge in developing strategic planning covering one to six years.
- Ability to develop formal plans that exceed one year and may affect business practices for several years, some may exceed ten years.
- Ability to lead, guide, and direct the Stormwater Section.

- Tuition Reimbursement: Employees may be reimbursed up to $1,000 (undergraduate), $2000 (graduate) per fiscal year for classes at an accredited college or university for courses that enhance your ability to perform your current job duties.
