Introduction

Job opportunities are offered first to current Clerk of the Circuit Court Employees. If a Clerk employee is not selected, consideration will be then given to applicants outside of the office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

an Associate's Degree and three (3) years of experience processing payroll

Or

a high school diploma (or GED Certificate) and four (4) years of experience processing payroll

TESTING REQUIREMENTS

A general accounting exam may be required.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of governmental accounting principles, practices, procedures, financial recordkeeping, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of basic payroll business practices and procedures, accounting systems, expenditure or revenue source documents, as well as general ledger and related accounting procedures.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, and policies governing assigned functional payroll accounting area.
  • Ability to use ERP accounting systems and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to analyze transactions and reports and make appropriate correcting entries.
  • Ability to post, balance, and reconcile financial accounts and records.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and apply job related rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare financial and statistical reports.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES

  • Auditing and processing payments to employees
  • Initiating wire transfers.
  • Communicating with departments and suppliers and performing research within the financial and document imaging workflow system to resolve invoice or payment issues.
  • Performing reconciliation activities, account corrections, systems testing.
  • Training and reviewing the work of accounting clerks.

Conclusion
