The Program Administrator for the Cultural Assets Commission is responsible for implementing and managing all aspects of the Cultural Assets Commission grants program. As this is a new program, the Program Administrator will play a key role in utilizing existing Hillsborough County procedures to facilitate the organization of the Commission in the start-up phase and will serve going forward as the primary liaison to the Commission. The Program Administrator will also plan and implement a fundraising strategy for the Cultural Assets Commission and oversee all marketing and public relations initiatives. This is an unclassified, exempt position that reports to the Executive Director of the Arts Council.



The hiring agency will give preference to individuals who meet the Minimum Qualifications and who possess:

  • Experience in managing grant programs
  • Experience working with donor database programs


A Bachelor’s Degree; and 

Five years of experience in project management which must have included contracts, grants and resource development.

  • Provides support in establishing the Cultural Assets Commission’s governing board.
  • Develops a fund-raising strategy for the Cultural Asset Commission.
  • Identifies appropriate fund-raising software to support the fund-raising strategy.
  • Designs and implements the Cultural Asset Commission’s grants program, including the development of all forms and procedures.
  • Reviews proposals submitted for consideration within the Cultural Asset Commission’s grants program.
  • Prepares written summaries and analysis documents of grant applications to aid members of the Commission in evaluating proposals and making awards.
  • Communicates with grant applicants and grantees and serves as the Cultural Asset Commission’s principal contact with grantees funded within the program.
  • Designs and executes program monitoring processes for Cultural Asset Commission grants.
  • Works in tandem with Arts Council staff to ensure that all county compliance requirements are met, including review of progress and expenditure reports, as needed.
  • Coordinates annual and final evaluation of all grants made within the Cultural Assets Commission grants program.
  • Prepares reports for the Cultural Asset Commission, the County Commissioners, and the community on outcomes of Cultural Asset funding.
  • Manages the Cultural Asset Commission’s public relations/community relations activities.
  • Works in tandem with the Arts Council staff to create content on the website specific to the Cultural Asset Commission. 
  • Performs other related duties as required.
