Job Description

PRCS is currently seeking qualified applicants for an Administrative Assistant position in Leesburg, Va. The ideal candidate will perform a broad spectrum of administrative, clerical and technical duties in support of the Children’s Programs and Sport’s divisions and their management teams.

Essential duties include:

  • Provide quarterly tracking of all licenses and certification expiration dates
  • Providing customer service regarding fields and conducting periodic site visits and attending off-site meetings as necessary
  • Responsible for maintaining databases, spreadsheets and files
  • Make contact and recover late payments
  • Track program information and provide various reports
  • Assisting with hiring
  • Schedule and maintain transportation for all field trips for camp programs
  • Provide support for the participant registration process
  • Provide other clerical and administrative support as assigned

Successful candidates will:

  • Understand that the primary work schedule is weekdays, however, occasional evening and weekends will be required for indoor and outdoor events
  • Exhibit strong communication skills, be flexible and adaptable as programs vary in support seasonally
  • Demonstrate competency working with innovative and evolving technology and equipment
  • Works independently, multi tasks and prioritizes various projects and tasks
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers by phone, email and in person, referring customers to appropriate staff as needed

Job Requirements

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma
  • Two Years of job related experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid Notary Public or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire required

Special Requirements


  • Experience with computer automated systems and Microsoft Office
  • Membership in the Virginia Recreation and Park Society professional organization is beneficial to the position
