Nature of Work

The fundamental reason this class exists is to perform highly strenuous unskilled work under extreme or adverse working conditions. Work may be performed independently or as a member of a crew and is usually closely supervised.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires skills to read simple instructions, observe fixed gauges, enter simple information on forms and use tools and equipment (which may require up to three months to gain proficiency). Demonstrated ability to perform at this level.

NOTE: Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.

Special Requirements

Some positions require the use of departmental vehicles on departmental business. Individuals must be capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record.
