POSITION DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, environmental science, aquaculture, natural science, natural resources management, botany, marine biology, marine ecology or physical oceanography, ichthyology, fisheries management, wildlife management, zoology, or a natural resources management related field of study.
Experience: Five years of experience in managing biological monitoring and resources assessments, in freshwater streams.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of stream species listed as rare, threatened and endangered in Maryland
Knowledge of Maryland stream animals considered invasive
Proficiency in taxonomic identification of at least one group of stream animals
Experience in technical writing
Experience with quality control of stream ecological and/or water quality data
Familiar with the Maryland Biological Stream Survey
Experience with managing data collection, management, analysis, report writing, and budgets for complex stream assessment projects
Experience in training professionals in stream ecological assessment
