Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to process incoming and outgoing mail, utilizing Mail Room equipment, ensure prompt delivery and collection of mail via established courier procedures. Accurately and efficiently assist as needed, in the preparation and batching of documents for scanning into the agencies electronic imaging system. This position will also distribute office supplies and forms to various Divisions submitting withdrawal requests, confirm that the appropriate supplies and correct quantities are received, maintain a clean, neat, orderly supply room that supports the efficient handling of all supply items, and to notify the procurement officer when inventory levels for a particular item are at the re-order point. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two (2) years of experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience as stated above on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

1 year of experience using Microsoft Office Suite

1 year of clerical or mailroom experience

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1 year of data entry experience, indexing electronically filed documents

1 year experience maintaining and operating mailing equipment

1 year experience reporting and monitoring maintenance issues as well as scheduling maintenance/service repairs

2 years of experience performing physical inventory and supply monitoring

1 year of experience handling confidential and time sensitive documents

1 year of customer service experience, working with both internal and external customers

Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more (heavy boxes and files), reach, bend and kneel
