Main Purpose of Job
These positions are responsible for coordinating and delivering vocational rehabilitation services leading to employment for individuals with significant disabilities in various locations in Maryland.
POSITION DUTIES
Assists persons with disabilities in preparing
for or obtaining and maintaining employment; determines eligibility for
vocational services; provides individual career counseling to people with disabilities;
reviews medical, psychological, and vocational data to evaluate the nature and
extent of the disability; coordinates and provides services to eligible
individuals necessary to accommodate their disabilities and obtain employment;
obtains services from other community agencies for people with disabilities;
and provides job placement, post-employment, and follow up services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: Two years of professional experience in a behavioral or social science related field is required.
Note: A Master’s Degree in a Behavioral or Social Science related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience providing career counseling and
case management.
· Experience in the VR and/or Human Services -
related field.
· Professional experience working with individuals
with disabilities.
· Experience preparing others for employment,
using job seeking tools and resources.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must consent to State Police Investigation
