Main Purpose of Job

Perform, supervise, and administer a wide range of warehouse administrative duties to sufficiently supply and equip Maryland State Police (MSP) personnel and divisions with the necessary resources to perform their duties.

POSITION DUTIES

Responsible for direct supervision of Quartermaster Division (QMD) warehouse personnel on a daily basis.  

Oversees the daily operation of the Quartermaster Division’s warehouse by monitoring practice of warehouse personnel, filling requisitions, maintaining truck usage schedules and supply distribution schedules, employee work and leave reports, etc.

Conduct PEP evaluations of all warehouse personnel base on work performance.

Ensure that commodities and equipment safety, sanitation, security and surveillance procedures, practices and techniques in the warehousing industry are followed.

Organize and facilitate schedules and adjust employee assignments to meet varying workload scheduling requirements.

Direct the relocation of new equipment to Maryland State Police (MSP) Barracks by coordinating the arrival of new equipment and the removal of unstable equipment.

Supervise and assist the Training Academy with the issuance of uniform equipment.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of supervisory experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a non- commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications:

1. Experience training employees in receiving and distribution of supplies and 
2. Experience developing new operating procedures and increasing efficiency

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SELECTION PROCESS

Successful candidates will be placed on the Eligible List categorized as BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED or QUALIFIED and remain eligible for consideration for at least one year from the date of examination. The list will be used by the hiring manager to select employees. The list will be valid for one year.

You may be required to complete a qualifications supplement, or the rating may be based on your application. Report all experience and education that is related to this position.
