Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Provide information to individuals who are re-entering communities on resources and services, including but not limited to, expungement workshops, traffic assistance, Federal bonding program, child support and modification, earned benefits, document replacement, career training, career counseling and assessments, job search tools, job search assistance, resume writing, clothes referrals, homeless navigator assistance, and TABE/survey of offender barriers to employment.
Interface with the American Job Center staff as to the services rendered at the centers.
•Connecting returning citizens to staff, program and services within the local American Job Center and community;
•Work with local AJC staff to identify potential job matches for returning citizens;
•Sharing labor market information with returning citizens to enable informed decisions on labor trends and economic conditions;
•Referring job seekers to training and/or supportive services to improve their job readiness by utilizing community, training and educational resources.
Interface with local businesses to connect returning citizens to fill jobs, and/or apprenticeship opportunities in the local area.
•Contacting the business community to share information and promote skilled returning citizen for employment;
•Troubleshooting employer problems and/or complaints concerning returning citizens and how the population can benefit the business;
•Attending business organization seminars and other meetings to promote returning citizens;
•Promote recruitment activities with local businesses to provide assistance; and
•Providing labor market information to new and existing businesses.
Provide a "boots on the ground" assessment for program staff at Baltimore County AJC .
Coordinate activities with other government agencies and institutions to facilitate the connection of services and resources for reentrants.
•Coordinate Reentry Transition
•Provide information and support in identifying necessary documents for employment; and information on AJC services,
•Register prerelease clients on the Maryland Workforce Exchange
•Bring together stakeholders who could offer assistance and resources to help offenders/formerly incarcerated individual to become productive citizens, reduce recidivism and victimization.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.

Contractual Benefits
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
Leave Benefits
Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year
