Main Purpose of Job
This position is
responsible for coordinating and delivering vocational rehabilitation services
leading to employment of individuals with disabilities.
POSITION DUTIES
To ensure the application of federal and state
laws, regulations and Division policy in determining the eligibility of
individuals with disabilities for vocational rehabilitation services and to
plan and implement vocational rehabilitation services to assist those
individuals to maintain, prepare for and obtain gainful employment
consistent with their skills, capacities and vocational choices within a
reasonable period of time as defined within Individualized Plans for
Employment. Assists persons with disabilities in preparing for and obtaining
employment; determines eligibility for vocational services; provides individual
career/counseling; reviews medical, psychological, and vocational data to
evaluate the nature and extent of the disability; coordinates and provides
services to eligible individuals necessary to accommodate their
disabilities and obtain employment; obtains services from other community
agencies for people with disabilities and provides job placement,
post-employment, and follows-up services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree.
Experience: Professional experience in a behavioral or social science related filed is preferred.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with career
counseling and case management.
- Experience in the VR
and/or in a Human Services related field.
- Professional
experience working with individuals who are blind/visually impaired.
- Experience assisting
others with employment preparation using job seeking tools and resources.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must consent to
