Introduction
The Maryland Department of Labor is accepting
applications from qualified candidates for the position of Administrative Officer I. This
skilled position serves as the Administrative Officer I for the Department of Labor.

Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Manages the application/reapplication process for applicants for licensure; maintaining licensing files for 19,500 licensees. Evaluates the educational, examination, and experience credentials of applicants and makes technical decisions based upon the authority conferred by the Board, the Maryland Public Accountancy Act and Board regulations as directed by the Executive Director.
- Maintains customer relations between the Board and; 1) licensee regarding license renewal requirements, (i.e., continuing education, pee review, etc.); and provides essential Board-generated documents to assist licensees in obtaining licensure in other states; 2) assists Marylanders and individuals licensed in other states in understanding the educational, experience, and examination requirements for licensure in Maryland.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
