POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of this position is to perform duties of a Computer Information Service Specialist Supervisor for the Information Technology & Communication Division (ITCD) Account Management Unit; to ensure the continuing operation of the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services Information Technology systems, by maintaining and providing account data, information and communication services to the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) criminal justice agencies and the public. The primary responsibilities include providing support to both internal and external customer support, maintaining accurate and complete documentation, providing protection of classified information from theft, corruption, and unauthorized access with regard to the creation and maintenance of accounts. To make certain that information and privacy laws and policies are enforced. This job is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating the work of subordinate staff. This position trains staff members with software and hardware that is required to maintain the accounts that access DPSCS systems. Develops and maintains process manuals for staff with regard to the creation and maintenance of accounts for DPSCS applications and infrastructure. Reviews user needs and requests for access to the Department's IT infrastructure.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience evaluating, implementing and maintaining personal computer hardware and software.

Notes1. Candidates may substitute additional experience responding to and resolving help desk calls from users of computers, or operating computer equipment for the purpose of data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, data base or other applications on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Cyber and Information Systems classifications or Cyber and Information Systems specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position. Successful candidates will be ranked as Best Qualified, Better Qualified, or Qualified and placed on the employment (eligible) list for at least one year.
