The Maryland School
for the Deaf (MSD) is a diverse, bilingual community who in partnership with

dedicated individuals who can join us in the education of the children at MSD.
This is an 11 month, school
year position. This position does not work when school is closed during
winter break, spring break, and during the summer months.

Main Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for the full performance level of work in
the receipt, storage and issuance of supplies, materials and equipment in the
dietary department. The position is also responsible for the serving of meals
from the cafeteria line and cleaning up afterwards.
POSITION DUTIES
Serve as the cashier
during meals.
Maintain records related
to the receipt, issuance and storage of supplies.
Responsible for the
storage of supplies including food and maintaining a neat, clean, secure and
functional storeroom, refrigerators and freezers.
Receive orders of food,
paper products and cleaning supplies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: None.
Experience: Six months of experience performing stockroom work to include receiving, storing and issuing supplies, materials and equipment.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a non-commissioned officer in logistics classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the supply management and distribution field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must be willing to learn
American Sign Language.
Must be able to lift and
push 50 pounds or more.
Must be able to climb 6 foot (6’) ladders.
Must be able to sit,
squat, and stand on feet for extended periods of time.
Must be able to move
and stack heavy and bulky objects.
Must have knowledge of
the methods and procedures used in the receipt, storage, and issuance of
stockroom supplies, materials, and equipment.
Must have good attention to
detail as well as accurate supply/material/equipment counts.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
New hires are subject to
a criminal background investigation at their own expense. (Maryland Code,
Family Law Article 1, Sections 5-560-568)
