LOCATION OF POSITION
DHMH/Worcester County Health Department, Behavioral Health Program Division, Snow Hill, Maryland
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide psychiatric evaluation and treatment. This includes assessment and diagnosis of patient's psychiatric conditions to determine care needs and care to be provided. This position also prescribes and monitors medications and directs psychiatrist treatment planning to assure that each patient has a plan of care that is individually designed for the patient's specific treatment needs. An employee of this classification must be Board certified and is considered an Emergency Essential position.
Education: Possession of a degree in Medicine from an accredited college or university.
Experience: As required for certification in an area of medical specialization by an American Medical Association Specialty Board.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Medical Corpsman and Physicians classifications or Nursing or Physician and Medical Services and Special Corpsman Officer specialty codes in the medicine field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
Candidates must be Board certified in Psychiatry. A copy of your certification should accompany your application.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Applicants must be certified by an American Medical Association Specialty Board in an area of medical specialization. **Please be sure to include a copy of your current licensure with your completed application.**
2. Applicants must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State Law. A copy of the current license must be attached to the application.
Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
