LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH, Potomac Center, Hagerstown MD
Main Purpose of Job
This position entails 24/7 supervision and responsibility for five residential cottages via four Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional Supervisors and eight Developmental Disabilities Associates, clinical and professional staff, vocational program, and recreational services. This position ensures compliance with the Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ), Federal ICF/IID regulations, and COMAR regulations. Populations served are those with co-occurring diagnosis of mental illness and intellectual disabilities, those with intellectual disabilities and forensic involvement, and those in the severe to profound functional level of intellectual disability, including those with severe physical limitations.
Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling, or a related field.
Experience: Six (6) years professional experience in health services, three (3) of which must have been in professional work related to treatment and development of developmentally disabled clients, and four (4) of which must have been at the managerial or supervisory level.
Notes: 1. Applicants may substitute a master’s or Doctoral degree in a health or human services field for up to two years of the required general experience.
2. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus an additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Health Services Administration specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate will have experience as an administrator in a residential or vocational program and experience providing support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and co-occurring behavioral health needs.
