Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to direct the development, implementation, maintenance, adoption, practice, and enforcement of information-technology policies for the protection of infrastructure, devices, applications, and data (analog as well as digital) within the Department. This position serves as the resident expert on security and policy technology practices, services, and solutions that are available and recommended for Department infrastructure and applications. This position will coordinate the responses to deviations from policy and breaches of security and promote readiness for disaster recovery and business continuity in the event of system failures. The desirable candidate will have knowledge of Federal, State security policies and standards relating to compliance and cyber security.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidate must possess of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 5 years of professional IT experience, and at least 2 years of experience in infrastructure operations & application lifecycle for purposes recommending & providing solutions for protection of Department.   A Master’s degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desirable candidate will have knowledge of Federal, State security policies and standards relating to compliance and cyber security, a Certified Information Systems Security Professional Certification (CISSP), and experience in the healthcare environment as it pertains to information technology security and policies, including HIPAA and HITECH.

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
