Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to direct the Vital Statistics Administration, which services the essential state functions of registering all 165,000 births, deaths, marriages and divorces that occur annually in the State, issuing over 600,000 certified copies of vital records annually; analyzing and reporting on the demographic and public health data collected on vital records, and preparing data in support of numerous Departmental programs, local health departments, other state and federal agencies, research and the general public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must possess a Master's degree from an accredited college or university, 6 years of professional experience in health or human services, including 4 years of supervisory or management experience and 3 years of experience using data analytics techniques and software, including SQL, SAS, R or Python.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Successful applicant should have strong technical skills and the ability to extract and manipulate data from a variety of systems. Experience managing large operations with limited resources is preferred.

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A resume must accompany your application.
