Main Purpose of Job

The Child and Adolescent Coordinator is responsible coordinating services related to children, adolescents, and young adults that are in need of mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) services community based and out-of-home services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: One year of experience in providing information on health care and disease prevention within the community.

Note: 1. Experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Health Services classifications or Health Services and specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Desired qualifications:
- Knowledge of behavioral health resources in Howard County and statewide
- Experience providing behavioral health linkage to care
- Experience collaborating with community stakeholder in a behavioral health setting
- Experience with public speaking in a behavioral health setting
- Experience working in a Maryland core service agency

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
