LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH, Wicomico County Health Department, Salisbury, MD
Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide Healthy Families services to high-risk women, infants, and children. This position promotes parenting and child health and development in an effort to prevent child abuse, neglect, and other poor childhood outcomes. This position is designated emergency essential.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of experience in providing information on health care and disease prevention within the community.
Note: 1. Experience providing assistance to individuals in a health care or social services setting may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Health Services classifications or Health Services and specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate should have experience in home visitation and/or child care.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
