LOCATION OF POSITION

Main Purpose of Job
This position will serve as a Peer Recovery Specialist. This position will be responsible for establishing a rapport with service recipients, gathering data systematically from clients and other available collateral sources, and using screening instruments and other methods. This position will screen clients for substance abuse and mental health problems. This position will also assist clients and help persons in crisis explore options that may be beneficial to their recovery and maintaining stability. This position will help service recipients with application to Medical Assistance, Primary Adult Care, and other benefits determined to be beneficial to their progress and recovery. This position will also help identify community resources and assist service recipients in recovery planning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate will have knowledge of resources in Cecil County and statewide. The desired candidate will also have experience with the Recovery Community, preferably two years of personal recovery; knowledge of understanding of certification process for Peer Recovery Specialist I & II with willingness to pursue within timeframes outlined in job classification, and experience working within a group setting.
