Main Purpose of Job

The Psychology Associate III, Masters collaborates with staff, community resources and individuals residing at Holly Center to develop, implement and evaluate methods of modifying behavior to benefit residents in the achievement of their life goals. This position consults staff responsible for the teaching of new skills to the residents. This position is responsible for all phases of behavior intervention for assigned residents in Home Life Services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a master’s degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited college or university in a program acceptable to the Maryland Board of Examiners of Psychologists.

Experience: Fours years of supervised experience, after completion of the master’s degree, rendering psychological services or engaged in research.

Note: 1. A twelve month internship required for a master’s or doctoral degree may be substituted for one year of experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Clinical Psychology classifications or Psychology specialty codes in the Psychology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Prior to being appointed the candidate must apply to the Board of Examiners of Psychologists for an exemption from licensure. Failure to obtain an exemption within six months of employment will result in termination, unless the Board grants an extension.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS

The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
