Camp Fretterd Military Reservation and

Aberdeen Proving Ground

Main Purpose of Job

Installs, repairs and maintains plumbing systems, fixtures, and equipment for water, heating, air conditioning, sewer, and drainage systems such as pipes, fittings, pumps, valves, steam converters, water closets, heating coils and steam traps at Camp Fretterd.

POSITION DUTIES

Repair, replace or install new plumbing accessories.

Perform preventative maintenance and repair.

Clean and repair boilers and fire boxes.

Layout and install new electrical, electronic, and pneumatic systems.

Performs other related duties such as seasonal grounds keeping and snow removal.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of the eighth grade.

 Experience: Two years experience as a journeyman plumber, one year of which includes installing and repairing sanitary plumbing appliances.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in utilities repair classifications or construction and engineering specialty codes in the plumbing field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Possession of a Maryland Journeyman/Gas Fitter License is required
