Main Purpose of Job

This is skilled work at the experienced level in the maintenance plumbing trades. The main function of this position is to independently perform complex tasks primarily in the plumbing area and, as needed, in the maintenance area, including maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment. Position may be subject to call-in on a 24-hour basis and may be assigned to day, evening, night or rotating shifts which may include weekends and holidays based on staffing needs. Position will also assist in the maintenance of outdoor grounds and shrubbery, plus other necessary duties as assigned. In addition, he/she will follow all MOSHA/OSHA policies and procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of the eighth grade.

Experience: Two (2) years experience as a journeyman plumber, one (1) year of which includes installing and repairing sanitary plumbing appliances.

Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in utilities repair classifications or construction and engineering specialty codes in the plumbing field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Possession of a Maryland Journeyman/Gas Fitter License is required. Please upload a copy of your license with this application.
