LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH, Springfield Hospital Center, Sykesville MD
Main Purpose of Job
This position will have overall supervision in the Central Kitchen for the Springfield Hospital Center, which is a large hospital food-service facility, with responsibility for food production and distribution, temperature control, waste and pilferage control, and sanitation. This position will also supervise the entire department during off business hours to include holidays and weekends.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience in food production or service for a large scale food service operation.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate will have:
1) ServSafe Certification (or other comparable Food Manager Certification).
2) Work experience administering and supervising food service personnel in a government or health care facility (i.e., nursing home, hospital, or other live-in institution or government facility).
3) A willingness to work during off-business hours (5-8:30 am and 5-7:00 pm, daily) and holidays and weekends.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification are subject to call-in and, therefore, will be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached or carry an electronic pager.
