Main Purpose of Job
This position within the Department of Human Service, Office of Budget and Finance, Division of Accounting Operations is responsible for receiving, analyzing, and appropriately processing Interim Assistance Reimbursements (IAR) of General Assistance (GA), Public Assistance to Adults (PAA), Temporary Cash Assistance (TCA) and Temporary Disability Assistance Program (TDAP) benefits paid to disabled adults that have applied for and are awaiting the approval of Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and to ensure the Agency maximizes reimbursement of all interim assistance issued to disabled adults subsequently found eligible for Federal disability benefits.
POSITION DUTIES
Receives and documents IAR/SSI cases from assigned Local Departments of Social Services (LDSS) for SSI processing; interprets and applies Federal regulations, requirements, policies, and procedures related to the appropriate adjudication of assigned cases; acknowledges and processes daily written communications received from the Social Security Administration (SSA) through the Federal Government to Government Online Services System (GSO), and makes appropriate follow-up actions; creates and maintains ongoing IAR/SSI case status utilizing a ledger tracking system, noting any requests, issues and outstanding challenges; communicates and collaborates with Family Investment Administration (FIA) Coordinators, Cares Fiscal, Accounting Operations, and the Office of Budget and Finance as needed to resolve IAR/SSI case related issues; scans all communications and other program related documents into the Electronic Contents Management Systems (ECMS) database; analyzes and reports on a variety of IAR/SSI cases; and performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One year of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.
Notes:
1. Additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Applicants may substitute education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field at the rate of 30 semester hours per year for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classification or Administrative Office specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

One year proficient computer experience in MS Office Suites: Excel, Word, and Access.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
