Introduction

This Position Specific Recruitment is being conducted to establish a list of eligible candidates to fill two vacancies in Department of Human Services, Prince George's County Department of Social Services' district offices.

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to assist in the management, direction, coordination and guidance of staff for the administration of Family Investment programs in a district office for the Prince George's County Department of Social Services and to ensure the utmost program access, payment accuracy, timely and compliant delivery of services that assists families, encourages self-sufficiency and promotes personal responsibility.

POSITION DUTIES

This position manages, motivates, develops, monitors and evaluates assigned district office supervisors in order to ensure optimal individual, unit and office performance for quality service delivery to customers; reviews, monitors and manages office compliance and workflow in order to ensure accurate and timely delivery of services; fosters and promotes positive relationships between the district office and customers (internal and external) in order to ensure quality delivery of services and a positive work environment; prepares, defends and monitors overtime budget, hours worked, productivity and over all overtime hours for the office on daily basis; ensures money spent matches the recorded hours; and ensures the office does not exceed the allocated overtime hours for the period.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.

Experience: Four years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.

Notes:

1. Applicants may substitute additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Applicants may substitute education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field at the rate of 30 semester hours per year for up to two years of the required experience.  

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualifications.

1. Two years experience processing temporary cash assistance applications.  

2. Two years experience processing Medicaid (medical assistance) applications.  

3. Two years experience processing food supplement assistance applications.

For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service is required prior to hire.
