MDH/Worcester County Health Department (All Sites), Administration Unit, Snow Hill, Maryland

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position will be to assist the Administrative Officer (Practice Manager) with agency business. This position will be responsible for conducting considerable correspondence and/or meeting minutes, compiling and summarizing data into concise form by the preparation of multiple confidential reports, tracking Meaningful Use program data and other incentive based programs, preparing and maintaining the credentialing for all providers with Medicare and Medicaid, and gathering insurance contracts for review by the Practice Manager. This position does require the ability to maintain a high level of customer service, be a team player, and possess an extremely high degree of confidentiality. This position will also be responsible for providing consistent agency operations in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures for all Worcester County Health Department sites. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credit hours at an accredited college or university.

Experience: None

Notes:  

1. Candidates may substitute one year of experience in administrative or professional work for the required education, at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours, for up to 60 credit hours of the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies  on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate for this position should possess:

  • Experience with using Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working with Meaningful Use/Merit Incentive-Based Programs
  • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid credentialing

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
