Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to provide MD CHESSIE data help to administrative staff such as analysts, child welfare senior management, and Department of Human Services central office staff. This position is responsible for helping those individuals understand the nuances of the agency's information within the system by linking together child welfare knowledge and MD CHESSIE system application knowledge. A focus of this position is ensuring that the information in MD CHESSIE is reflective of the status of child welfare cases, and resolving any issues causing discrepancies.

POSITION DUTIES

Monitors the Agency's efforts accurate, timely data entry into MD CHESSIE by providing reports on statuses of cases and developing distributing data input tasks to child welfare staff.

Researches cases within MD CHESSIE to confirm validity of data and to assist with audit responses. Runs R Scripts or Excel calculators related to MD CHESSIE data and finalize the resulting reports by researching cases identified by those scripts, including child welfare caseloads list (handcounts).

Assists in the MD CHESSIE data clean-up process by reviewing reports and cleaning up data in MD CHESSIE System, in preparation for the transition from MD CHESSIE to the Maryland Child, Juvenile and Adult Management Systems (MD CJAMS).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations.

Notes:

1. Additional professional or technical experience in the administration
of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Education at the graduate level at an accredited college or university in a human services related field may be substituted at the rate of 30 semester hours per year for up to two years of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications and Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Officer Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong preference will be given to applicants that possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding the qualifications.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

1. One year of experience using the Maryland Children's Electronic Social Services Information Exchange (MD CHESSIE).

2. One year of experience in a Child Welfare Program.

3. One year of experience monitoring program efficiency of a child welfare program and making recommendations to improve system efficiency and operations.

4. One year of experience using Microsoft Office Suite Word, Excel, etc. and/or Google Suite Docs or Sheets.

5. One year of experience dealing with internal and external customers.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position. For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service must be provided prior to hire.
