LOCATION OF POSITION
Caroline County Health Department, Denton, Maryland
Main Purpose of Job
This position serves as a School-Based Therapist. This is a professional clinical social worker at the intermediate level. This classification receives supervision from a LCSW-C supervisor approved by the Board of Social Workers and Therapists. This position does not supervise and must apply to the Board for recognition as a Graduate Social Worker. This position relates directly to the mission of the Agency by providing quality behavioral health treatment to child, adolescent and adult consumers with behavioral health disorders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners under the licensing requirements for Social Workers.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The desired candidate will be bilingual in Spanish and English. Candidates should be fluent in both languages and be able to speak, read, and write in both Spanish and English.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates must be licensed as a Graduate Social Worker or Certified Social Worker by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners prior to appointment to a position in State service. Applicants who do not have a license may also apply pending receipt of the required license. When the license is obtained, submit a copy to the Department of Health Recruitment and Selection Unit. A copy of your current license or license verification should accompany your application.
2. Candidates appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess an appropriate operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
