Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position s to support, monitor, and coordinate a wide range of complex strategic health policy and planning activities related to chronic disease prevention and control efforts, with particular emphasis on evaluating, analyzing, researching, and developing systems policies and programs which address public health challenges presented by heart disease and stroke, in the State of Maryland. This position will work closely with the Community Clinical Linkages Team Manager to research and communicate evidence-based community program reimbursement best practices and other policy efforts related to this program and will assist with program planning, grant reporting, and responding to legislative requests.
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.
A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate will have project coordination experience or administrative experience in non-communicable disease prevention and control. Candidates with experience in public health policies and systems change work, to also include contract and budget management is also preferred. Candidates should have knowledge of public health programs and policies, including current health care delivery systems, barriers to access, and social determinants of health.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
