Main Purpose of Job

This position will be responsible for working closely with the Division Chief for Provider Enrollment Vendor Transition and Monitoring to perform high priority Medical policy analyses and implement high priority projects related to Medicaid Provider Enrollment. The primary purpose of the position is to coordinate and review the screening and monitoring of our 65,000 Medicaid Providers, as well as tens of thousands of additional managing employees, owners, and controlling agents monthly. This position will also review, research, and make determinations regarding whether the Program must terminate providers' enrollment, or alert the provider entity to an issue related to this screening. In addition to this being a federal requirement, will allow Medicaid to be more proactive in identifying potential bad providers and protecting the health and safety of already vulnerable Medicaid participants. This may involve researching State and Federal regulatory and subregulatory guidance. This position will also work to coordinate policy provider enrollment vendor implementation projects, and vendor compliance activities within the Office of Health Services. The position will research, evaluate, and analyze policies and data regarding provider enrollment within the Medicaid Program to develop provider communication materials. This position will work with Directors, Deputy Directors and Division Chiefs to coordinate activities regarding provider communications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Note:

A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
