Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for addressing high priority projects including the evaluation, analysis, research and development of behavioral health services and policies within the Division of Behavioral Health. This position advises, develops, and implements Medicaid financing strategies to maximize federal collections for services under the BH system and interprets federal and state policy and regulations to assure that Medicaid services are reimbursed according to federal requirements. A priority of this position includes the responsibility for compliance activities, audit tracking, and strategizes performance improvement with the Administrative Service Organization (ASO). This position coordinates implementation of program policy, coverage and reimbursement for behavioral health services under the ASO. This position assists the Director with all procurement requirements related to the ASO and performs contract monitoring. This position works closely with the ASO, and with other departments, specifically the Behavioral Health Administration (BHA) analyzing and anticipating the impact of the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) policy changes and directives on the Medicaid Behavioral Health Unit, BHA and MCO policies and projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: One year of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Note:

A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.
