Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position will be to perform the advanced level of work in evaluating, analyzing, researching, and/or developing behavioral health care services, policies/programs. This position will use data-driven research to recommend policy formulation and revision of existing policy, services and/or programs. This position will also work to initiate, plan, design and/or execute projects in behavioral health policy analysis and for the validity and reliability of findings, interpretations, conclusions, recommendations and final reports. This position will be responsible for writing reports and/or position papers to support the development and implementation of the behavioral health system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Three years of experience evaluating, analyzing, researching and developing health care services, policies and programs.

Notes:

1. A Master's degree in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

2. A PhD in Health Sciences, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Public Policy or closely related field may be substituted for two years of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate for this position should possess:

  • Experience evaluating behavioral health care policy (State or National level)
  • Excellent written and/or verbal communication skills

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
