Local Behavioral Health Authority - Planning, Quality and Core Service

Snow Hill, Maryland

Main Purpose of Job

This position will coordinate and oversee the behavioral health service delivery system for Worcester County consumers. The person will monitor services contracted by the Local Behavioral Authority for quality assurance, provide case consultation to providers, provide coordination services for the Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) program, collect and review vendor reports as a part of monitoring, investigate behavioral health complaints. Must be able to work and travel to all sites of the Worcester County Health Department.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, Education, Counseling or a related field.

Experience: Two years of professional experience in health services, one year of which must have been professional work related to treatment and services for mentally ill patients.

Notes:

1. Applicants may substitute a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The preferred candidate for this positon will possess:

  • experience with outreach activities (to include coordination and oversight)
  • experience handling complaints and/or investigations
  • experience conducting behavioral health (BH) needs assessments
  • experience with quality assurance measures
