Introduction
A Lottery Representative
I is the intermediate level of work in selling and merchandising to retailers
for the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency.
GRADE
LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Must travel
throughout a designated territory to ensure retailers are promoting
Lottery sales activities while complying with licensing policies and
procedures. Must also recruit new Lottery retail locations, assist with
licensing new retailers, and evaluate retailer's licensing
compliance. Additional duties include but are not limited to delivering
point-of-sale materials to retailers, advising retailer's on the
effective display of point-of-sale materials,
and conducting public presentations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience selling or marketing a consumer product from a wholesaler or manufacturer to retail outlets for resale to consumers.
Notes:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing may be substituted for the required experience.
2. Additional experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of experience in wholesale and/or route
sales.
Two years of sales experience involving
servicing retailers.

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program (the Program), have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
