LOCATION OF POSITION
MDH, Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center, Jessup MD
Main Purpose of Job
This position will function as the Director of Plant Management for the Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center. The main purpose of this position is to ensure that all buildings, equipment and utilities are kept in optimum working condition, so that the mission and goals of the hospital can be met. This involves a facility of 355,626 square feet; 69 acres; approximately 500+ staff and approximately 238 patients.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of eighth grade.
Experience: Nine (9) years experience in stationary engineering, building maintenance or building construction trades including eight (8) years of responsibility assigning, reviewing and approving the work of others and disciplining, evaluating the performance of and recommending the hiring, firing and promoting of others.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance specialty codes in the utility systems repair field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification series may be assigned duties that require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
