Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to function independently and in concert with other in providing requisite services to and on behalf of Individuals.  Incumbent must discharge professional responsibilities in accordance with expertise, ethical consideration and applicable regulatory standards or requirements.  This position serves on the Individuals' Inter-disciplinary Teams; is primary familial contact; assess Individuals' needs and explores possible responses thereto; and, writes updated social summaries in accordance with policies and professional practices.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, psychology, education, counseling or a related field.

Experience: Two years of professional experience in health services, one year of which must have been in the option for which application is made.

Notes: 1. Applicants may substitute a master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a health or human service field for one year of the required general experience.

2. Experience in the option must be as follows: professional work related to the support services and programs for developmentally disabled clients.

3. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in another field plus one additional year of professional experience in health services may be substituted for the specific degree.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.
