Main Purpose of Job
To provide clerical and support services needed to maintain a Health Record System in accordance with Joint commission, State and Federals laws, and other governing agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalence certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience compiling and maintaining health records.
Note: 1. Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in Medical Record classifications or Patient Administration Specialists and Health Services Management specialty codes in the health records management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidates must demonstrate the ability to type at a minimum speed of 20 words per minute.

BARGAINING UNIT STATUS
The incumbent in this position is a member of a covered bargaining unit and will be required to pay a bi-weekly service fee to the exclusive representative of the bargaining unit.
