Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position, as the Operations Manager, appointee's initial assignment will be to assume managerial responsibilities for 24/7 Residential Services by assisting all residents as it relates to residential services for people with intellectual disabilities and often co-occurring mental health, court, and medical involvement. In this position, the Operations Manager has been charged with ensuring that the treatment of and services provided to all residents are always consistent with the following representative requirements: ICF/IID regulations, HEALTH CARE ARTICLE provisions and CMS; Office of Health Care Quality Guidelines; SETT's Policies/Procedures governing staff deportment; Individuals' Rights and Entitlements; Abuse; et al. Court orders especially in terms of any imposed restrictions/limitations or express/implied judicial expectations; and security/safety measures specifically identified and implemented to ensure welfare of clients, staff and community at large.                                           

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of 60 credits hours from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 credits hours in health or human services, education or the behavioral sciences.

Experience: Five years of experience providing residential services in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting to include two years of experience supervising residential services staff.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute an Associate of Arts degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in the treatment of developmental disabilities in a mental health or closely related curriculum to include a supervised clinical practicum in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting for the required education and two years of the non-supervisory experience.

2. Candidates may substitute a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in the treatment of developmental disabilities in a mental health or closely related curriculum to include a supervised clinical practicum in a developmental disability or similar behavior modification setting for the required education and three years of the non-supervisory experience and one year of the supervisory experience.

3. Candidates may substitute additional experience providing rehabilitation services in a developmental disability setting at the rate of one year of experience for 30 credit hours of education.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a non-commissioned officer in Hospital Corpsman classifications or Health Care Specialist and Medical Services specialty codes in the health related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.  

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete training and maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Employees in this classification are subject to call 24 hours a day and, therefore, will be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.
