Main Purpose of Job
The purpose of this position is to provide quality occupational therapy services to include screening, reassessment, treatment planning and implementation as requested by the interdisciplinary team and assigned by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Services provided will focus on maintaining the health and safety of the individuals with developmental disabilities residing at this facility, as well as promoting participation in daily life activities by the person at their maximum level of independence.
Education: Determined by the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistants.
Experience: Two years of experience as a Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Note: Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy Assistant classifications or Therapy Assistant specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, Spring Grove Hospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21228.
2. Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete cardiopulmonary resuscitation training and maintain current certification.
3. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of an automobile. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
