Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to establish nursing services at John L. Gildner - RICA in keeping with the therapeutic goals of the facility in the care of emotionally disturbed residential youths. This position will  oversee residential component of the JLG-RICA program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a master's degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university and 5 years of registered nursing experience, including 2 years of psychiatric nursing.  3 years of experience must included supervisory, teaching or administrative level duties.  Qualified candidates must possess a license as a Registered Nurse by the Maryland Board of Nursing.  A copy of your current RN license must accompany your application.

A bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited college or university, along with 7 years of registered nursing experience (2 of which must have been in psychiatric nursing) and 5 years of experience including supervisory, teaching or administrative level duties may be substituted for the above required education and experience.

 

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Candidates for this position must possess a current license as a Registered Nurse from the Maryland Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, 21215.  A copy of your license, license verification or license number and expiration date must accompany your application.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
