LOCATION OF POSITION

MDH, Spring Grove Hospital Center, Catonsville, MD

Main Purpose of Job

This position manages and oversees the unit supervision of all professional, technical, and support staff assigned to an in-patient area providing all aspects of psychiatric care. This position receives managerial supervision from the Clinical Director or Associate Clinical Director or CEO and provides both administrative and clinical supervision (directly and indirectly) to members of the unit treatment team composed of other physicians, social workers, nursing staff (RNs, LPNs & CNAs), Psychologists, Recreational Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, and all other support staff providing care on a specified unit. This position is Emergency Essential.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires an MD degree from an accredited college or university, Board Certification in psychiatry, and two years of medical practice, preferably at a supervisory or administrative level.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Applicants must be licensed and currently registered with the Maryland Board of Physicians to practice medicine under Maryland State law.  A copy of the current registration must be attached to the application.

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A copy of your resume must accompany your application.
