Salary Range:  $60,543 - $88,424 prorated @ 80%

Main Purpose of Job

This is a professional 80% part-time position (32 hours/week) responsible for the development, coordination, and facilitation of professional learning experiences that focus on fostering the growth of effective leaders and improving school performance; supports continuous improvement of school systems through data-informed and research-based professional learning experiences in alignment with priorities identified in the Maryland Every Student Succeeds Act Consolidated Plan.

POSITION DUTIES

Provides leadership and technical expertise in developing and facilitating customized professional learning experiences, informed by data, to foster growth of effective leaders and improve school performance; will focus on supporting school systems in the implementation of the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders, the Four Domains of Rapid School Improvement, and evidence-based strategies that support effective leadership and school improvement; responsible for (1) creating, coordinating, and facilitating professional learning experiences in-person and online in synchronous and asynchronous formats; (2) providing regular on-site and virtual professional learning experiences to central office staff and school leadership teams; (3) identifying and implementing effective strategies for adult learners; and  (4) coordinating the Promising Principals Academy,  Leading for School Improvement Institute, and other statewide academies for school leaders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  Master’s Degree or equivalent 36 credit hours of post baccalaureate course work in Educational Administration/Supervision, or education related field.

EXPERIENCE:  Four (4) years of professional experience providing professional learning experiences, in-person and/or virtually, to adult learners including two (2) years of experience in coordinating or administering an education program or service directly related to the position.  Experience in developing professional learning experiences focused on school improvement and leadership development preferred.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies, and issues impacting school improvement and leadership development; knowledge of Maryland Every Student Succeeds Act Consolidated Plan; knowledge of Professional Standards for Educational Leaders, Model Principal Supervisor Professional Standards, and Professional Learning Standards; knowledge of the Four Domains of Rapid School Improvement; knowledge of effective practices for engaging adult learners; skill in identifying school-level and system-level needs and delivering appropriate programmatic solutions, technical assistance, training, and guidance on issues related to effective leaders and school improvement; skill in organizing and managing multiple projects, timelines, and deadlines; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders; ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment in making decisions. 

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Proof of eligibility to work in compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act and possible travel throughout the State are required. Any misrepresentation of academic or experience requirements for this position may result in non-selection or termination of employment.
