LOCATION OF POSITION
This position is located inside of a Correctional Facility:

Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Production:
- Plans and schedules production operation in coordination with Pertinent Departments
- Coordinates the delivery of finished products to customers.
- Prepares "costing sheets" for items produced.
- Plans for and implements production of new or modified products.
- Evaluates current materials being used for economic and production efficiency.
- Prepares "Job Jackets" for maximum yield of raw material.
- Inspects plant facilities to determine efficiency of operations and inmate training.
Administration:
- Briefs subordinates on changes in MCE, institutional or Division of Correction Policies, activities and incidents, staffing and personnel changes.
- Formulates and recommends policies and standards governing production operations.
- Establishes and maintains a uniform production and inmate training record system.
- Oversee a preventative maintenance program.
- Maintain accurate records and locations of all equipment.
- Prepare reports for Regional Manager, Customer Service, Operations Manager and Fiscal Department.
- Responsible for control and management of all Plant asserts to include equipment, raw materials and supplies.
Safety and Security:
- Enforces Safety, Security and Fire regulations.
- reviews and takes proper actions relative to inmate complaints and infractions.
- Maintain procedures for tool control and toxic or hazardous materials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Six years of experience involving the training and supervision of printing and graphics related processess.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet this selective qualification to be considered. Applicants must be detailed in describing the nature of their training/instructional work experience in the work section of their application.
Experience in the field of graphics, silk screening and fabrication. Basic knowledge of the entire printing process which consists of Pre-Press, Offset printing press, Digital Printing, Silk-screening and graphics related computer skills are required.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees who have not already done so must complete and successfully pass the Entrance Level Correctional Training Course required for the Maryland Correctional Training Commission certificate during the probationary period.
Employees in this classification are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations 17.04.09, Testing for Illegal Use of Drugs.
