Introduction

The Maryland Department of the Environment is accepting up to 22 applications for Student Technical Assistants for a 3-month period.

LOCATION OF POSITION

POSITION LOCATIONS ARE BALTIMORE CITY AND SURROUNDING COUNTIES

Main Purpose of Job

The Student Technical Assistant classification is used to hire college students pursuing degrees in fields such as environmental science, geology, engineering, mathematics, accounting, chemistry, and other qualifying degrees. The Student Technical Assistant will assist staff in either the Office of the Secretary, Coordinating Offices, Air and Radiation Administration, Land and Materials Administration, or the Water and Science Administration. The student must be able to handle confidential information and work according to agency policies, procedures, and guidelines.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Students must have completed freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year in an undergraduate environmental science program or other related majors such as biology, earth science, geology, engineering, math and other qualifying degrees. Students who have completed undergraduate education must be currently enrolled or pursuing enrollment in a Masters' study program. Documentation must be submitted at time of appointment to position.

KNOWLEDGE OF MICROSOFT PRODUCTS, I.E., WORD, EXCEL, POWERPOINT, ETC. MAY BE A REQUIREMENT FOR SOME POSITIONS
